Long ago, in the land of Li’mor there was a princess named Aria. She was a very beautiful princess and had many choices of suitors, yet all of the so called “valiant” knights that came to ask her hand were vile men, only in search of fame and glory for themselves. Princess Aria wanted a man who would rule her father’s kingdom with a kind and generous hand, and not like the men who came boasting of the blood they had lustfully spilt. So one day the princess came up with a plan: she would take on the role of a peasant, and as a peasant go and look for a suitor that could show her the kindness and generosity that it would take to rule the kingdom, the first man that could meet these requirements would be her groom.
And so princess Aria began her quest by borrowing one of the servant’s clothes. She dressed in a manner that would bring no attention to her actual rank in society, so that the man would be kind to her out of his heart and not out of the want for fame. After changing her clothes, she enlisted the help of one of her dearest maids, Mara, to help her escape the palace so that she could begin her quest.
“I don’t think this is going to make your father happy Miss Aria,” said Mara.
“Well then we’ll just have to make sure he doesn’t find out,” responded Aria
Then Mara exclaimed, “But Miss! You are the princess! He will surly know tomorrow when you are called to the royal breakfast!”
“That is why I left a note fully explaining to my father what to do when he finds that I am gone,” said Aria with a confident tone.
“What does the note tell him to do?” questioned Mara.
Then Aria said, “To wait.” After this quick conversation with her maid, Aria quickly climed over the stone wall and snuck in to the market place to wait out the night.

At the break of day Princess Aria started wandering the kingdom in search of a suitor. The first man she saw was a nobleman. He was of high class and walked throughout the market with an air that was pleasant to watch. After observing him for a bit, Aria thought that she would test him.
“Hello Sir,” said Aria
(no response)
“Hello Sir,” said Aria a second time.
(no response)
“Excuse me Sir,” Aria then said with a more urgent tone.
“What is it miss!! Can’t you see that I am a busy man! I Have no time to waste on a beggar girl such as yourself! Go and LEAVE ME BE!” At this the nobleman left and slowly blended into the crowd.
Slightly flustered at the man’s temper, and somewhat angered herself, Aria decided to wait by a country road to see if anyone would offer her a ride. After some time a merchant started to come down the road. As he got closer Aria questioned him, “Excuse me sir, have you room for a weary soul?”
“Sorry miss, this is a full load. No room here,” said the merchant.
“Have you not the kindness to make room on your wagon for even one?” said Aria.
“No ma’m, these are valuable items. Can’t be trading them for a peasant to have a ride, Good day to you,” Responded the merchant.
“Yes I suppose it is a good day,” Aria said to herself as the merchant continued down the road and out of her sight, “but it is near the end and I have yet to find a worthy man,” With that Aria began to walk down the road and after some time (because she wasn’t paying attention, (and because this is a fairy tale)) she tripped over a small rock in the road an sprained her ankle. Distressed at this event Aria began to call for help. “Help, Please, somebody, help,” But only the animals of the forest gave their replies. Until after sometime she heard footsteps coming hastily her way.
Then from the trees she heard a male voice, “What is it miss? What do you need? I can help,” as the person came out of the trees she could see a slender young man with peasant clothes on and a small knife at his side.
“Kind sir. I seem to have sprained my ankle, and I don’t know how I will get myself out of this mess,” Said Aria rather quaintly.
“Well, sorry I cant carry you, but I have just the thing. Give me a second,” whit that the young man began to go around and collect long branches. After a little carving, and adding some cloth to the ends he made her some crutches.
“Sir, you have done what others could not do,” said Aria, “You have shown me kindness today,” Aria then revealed her identity to the young man and told him of her quest. He was amazed of the Princess’s story and gladly accepted her proposal………. And they lived happily ever after.
The moral of the story is simple you cant get a person who is “real” if they are wanting to please themselves, and that sometimes nerds can be the best people out there J
